COVID-19 in 2020

The 2020 Triple Bypass POSTPONED to 2021.  We fought.  covid-19 won.

Your safety and the safety of our communities are our primary concerns.  We don’t want you to have to ride wearing a mask, eliminate the finish party fun or prevent you from giving congratulatory high-fives to your fellow participants.  COVID took the ball and went home with it.

REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED BETWEEN JUNE 15-30th

YOUR OPTIONS:

saturday Triple Riders – includes fondo and shorter distances 

  1. DEFER TO 2021 – Join us July 10, 2021.  A small $25 admin fee will be charged when you register.  
  2. REFUND – You get a refund back to your credit card for the price of your ride, less 25%.

Deferrals or refunds can be made on your Rider Dashboard.  Your selection must be made by June 12, 2020.  If you choose to defer, a code will be sent to you before our 2021 registration opens. Refunds will be issued between June 15-30th.

All merchandise (except training plans) will be refunded in full (less a 3% credit card fee).  Service fees from RegQuick are non-refundable.

If you received an insurance claim payout, you may not request a refund or deferral.  Please do not submit a chargeback to your credit card company, contact us instead. 

Double triple Riders

  1. REFUND + DEFERRAL – Join us July 10, 2021 for the Triple Bypass (120-mile Saturday ride).  A small $25 admin fee will be charged when you register. Includes refund of 85% of the difference of your second day (Sunday) ride.
  2. REFUND – You get a refund back to your credit card for the price of your full Double ride, less 20%.

We are not yet certain we will be able to host the 2-day event in 2021, so we are offering deferrals to the 2021 Saturday ride only.

FAQs

Can I donate my refund to team evergreen?

Yes!  Team Evergreen hosts the Triple to support community and cycling causes and has always donated the proceeds to non-profits (over $3M in the past 20 years). When you choose to do a refund or deferral, you can leave a portion with Team Evergreen.

For those that donate their entire entry fee:

  • Triple riders, give it all and we’ll send you a pair of snazzy Triple socks.  Double riders, donate your fee and we’ll send you socks and a sweet Triple baseball cap. 
  • The list of generous donors will be posted on the Triple website and highlighted on social media
  • If you ride with us in 2021, you’ll also get an exclusive gold number plate to show the world your wonderful generosity. 

We want to continue to produce the Triple, host great rides and be a cornerstone of giving in the cycling community. We appreciate your kindness during this unfortunate and unpredictable year.

Why can't I get a full refund?

As a nonprofit organization, our event fees go toward the Triple, with any proceeds directed back to cycling advocacy and community strengthening non-profitsPlanning ahead for the Triple requires contracts with nonrefundable deposits well in advance of the event, staffing costs and advance purchases from local providers, none of which can be fully recuperated. We normally have a no-refund policy because registration income enables us to do this year-round work and keep our team and organization intact.

We have made the decision to cancel the Triple before securing our largest contracts, allowing us to return as much money to riders as possible. All registered riders will receive a refund equivalent to 75% (or 85% for the Double) of your registration fee and 100% of any merchandise ordered through our website. 

Registration service fees are non-refundable through RegQuick.

When can I get my refund or select to defer to 2021?

The rider dashboard will be open for all refunds and deferrals through June 12, 2020.  Your refunds will be processed and hit your credit cards June 15-30th.  Deferral riders will receive a entry code before 2021 registration. 

am i automatically deferred to 2021 if i don't take a refund?

No!  Be sure to log into your dashboard and select deferral.  We will send you a code before the 2021 registration.  All 2021 deferred entries will also get a free membership to Team Evergreen- includes happy hours, discounts and more. 

What if I paid for rider insurance?

We offered rider insurance through Fan Shield and they have determined not to cover incidents or cancellations related to COVID-19.  The amount you paid for rider insurance was made to Fan Shield, not the Triple Bypass.  If you would like to pursue a refund of your rider insurance expense, please contact Fan Shield directly.

The Triple Bypass took out an additional policy for event cancellation in the event that we needed to cancel for something out of our control (such as forest fires) but excluded incidents related to pandemics (or our friend, COVID-19).  The pandemic exclusion hit us all by surprise and we apologize, it was not something we could have anticipated.

What About my hotel and shuttle reservations?
